art heart is honoured to be associated with M.Ramalingam. Born in 1957, and grew up in
the bustling metropolis of Chennai. M.Ramalingam has a Bachelors in Fine Art from Govt.
College of Art, Chennai,1980. M.Ramalingam, an artist with considerable achievements
to his credit. He is deaf since birth and later developed Usher Syndrome (narrowing/
tunnel vision & night blindness). M.Ramalingam has been painting since 1980.
M.Ramalingam has received numerous awards including Junior Fellowship under the
Department of Culture, Government of India; Commonwealth Foundation, UK; British
Council Visitor-ship, UK; Indian Council for Cultural Relations, India; Charles Wallace
Trust, UK; Shape, UK; VSC Artist grant, Vermont, USA; Pollock-Krasner Foundation, New
York, USA; UNESCO/Aschberg Bursary, France; Japan Foundation and Valparaiso
Foundation, Spain.
